I found a quote from Mark Silow, the managing partner at Fox Rothschild, whilst browsing the news today:
“If you can blog today on a decision that came out this morning involving a really specific technical aspect of the law, you’ve now portrayed yourself as a current expert.”
If you have read any of my other blog posts, you'll be aware that I am passionate about encouraging lawyers and other experts to demonstrate their expertise via the means of blogging. Mark goes on to say that he is amazed by the amount of business a blog can generate.
If you look at the Fox Williams blog pages, you'll see that they have silos of knowledge for all the areas of law in which they operate, showing that they are the "go to" experts in these areas.
Worth a look if you want to drive more business for your firm...
Reed Smith is far from the only firm that’s creating blogs to entice clients to use its services. As corporate law departments have started more aggressively shopping for legal services, and using multiple law firms, blogs have emerged as a natural way for individual lawyers and practice groups to distinguish themselves from competitors and position themselves as experts within a specific area. Fox Rothschild’s firmwide managing partner Mark Silow said he’s been “amazed” by the amount of business a blog can generate.
